StereoLift Live Desktop Software Licence
Effective date: 14 August 2026
1. Scope
This Licence governs installation and use of the StereoLift Live desktop/server software by adult consumers for private, non-commercial use.
It applies together with the StereoLift Live Consumer Terms of Use. It forms part of the base agreement when both documents are accepted on the StereoLift Access & plans page.
The installer or first run may also present this Licence for local installation and use. Selecting the local acceptance control accepts this Licence for that purpose. It does not create or change a StereoLift account, access profile, package or payment obligation.
The Privacy Policy explains data processing and is not part of the contractual acceptance. The liability section of the Consumer Terms applies to this Licence.
2. Licence grant
For the duration of the base agreement and to the extent permitted by the current access profile, StereoLift grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the official desktop software on devices you control, together with the official StereoLift Quest app, for private, non-commercial purposes.
The software is licensed, not sold. No source-code, trademark or other intellectual-property right is transferred.
You may not sell, rent, sublicense, commercially host or provide the software or protected product functions to others unless a separately accepted package or written agreement expressly permits it.
3. Local capture and online functions
In supported normal use, the software captures and converts the selected display on your PC and sends the raw media stream over your local network to the paired Quest app. StereoLift cloud systems are not used as a relay or storage location for that raw stream.
The software can communicate online for account access, device authorisation, entitlement and usage control, security, updates, support and optional desktop diagnostics. A signed authorisation may be verified locally after it has been issued online.
The software is not a backup service, public streaming service, CDN, general remote-access gateway or security boundary for your local network.
4. Technical environment and security
You provide and control the PC, operating system, GPU and drivers, display, storage, router, firewall, local network and internet connection. Use only release pairs and configurations identified as supported for the relevant version.
The software may request a supported display-mode change and attempt to restore it when the session ends. Results depend on the operating system, display stack and driver. Save work, maintain backups and stop use if an unsafe or abnormal condition occurs.
Secure your computer, operating-system account, router, firewall, headset, credentials and local network. Do not expose the server to the public internet unless StereoLift expressly supports that configuration.
No particular frame rate, latency, conversion result, artistic result, driver duration or compatibility with an unidentified configuration is promised.
5. Account, entitlement and connectivity
Use of protected functions may depend on an enabled account, a current access profile, linked devices, signed authorisations, usage checks and internet access for account, security or entitlement functions.
Possession of an installer, installed copy, device credential, pairing state or signed authorisation does not create permanent access. Access-profile and package rules are governed by the Consumer Terms and any applicable order schedule.
You must not alter, replay, falsify or bypass account, device, usage, entitlement, pairing, revocation or security state.
6. Restrictions and mandatory software-law rights
Except where mandatory law permits otherwise, you must not:
- copy or distribute the software beyond the licence granted here;
- sell, rent, sublicense, host or provide it as a service;
- modify, translate, reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it;
- bypass or manipulate account, device, entitlement, usage, pairing, revocation or security controls;
- extract, publish, replay or misuse credentials, keys, tokens, authorisations, pairing secrets or protected protocol information;
- use unsupported clients to access protected streams;
- remove proprietary or third-party notices; or
- use the software unlawfully or in a safety-critical environment.
These restrictions do not limit mandatory rights under sections 69d and 69e of the German Copyright Act or other non-waivable law, including legally permitted observation, testing, backup or interoperability work under the applicable conditions.
7. Content, updates and third-party components
You decide what is displayed, captured, converted or controlled. You must have the necessary rights and permissions and protect confidential information.
Security, compatibility or protocol updates may be required for continued use. If StereoLift identifies an update as required and explains the consequences, install it within a reasonable period. Unsupported versions may stop working with current account, Quest, entitlement, platform or security functions.
The software may include open-source, proprietary runtime, GPU, media, codec, model and other third-party components. Their own terms and notices apply. Those terms prevail for a component where they grant additional rights.
8. Safety
Use the software only in a safe environment and follow the Quest device instructions. Stop if you experience discomfort, dizziness, eye strain, disorientation or fatigue.
Do not rely on StereoLift Live for medical, emergency, navigation, industrial-control, safety-critical or other high-risk use.
9. End of licence
This Licence ends when the base agreement ends or when the relevant entitlement is lawfully withdrawn under the Consumer Terms or an applicable order schedule.
Ending this Licence does not affect mandatory rights or provisions that by their nature continue, including intellectual-property, third-party and liability provisions.
10. Liability and mandatory rights
The liability section of the StereoLift Live Consumer Terms of Use applies. Mandatory consumer, software, product-liability and other non-waivable rights remain unaffected.
